NUMC Missions
We have much to celebrate as we reflect on our active missions program at NUMC. Many lives have been touched by our variety of outreach programs and missions efforts and as always, we are indeed blessed in the process as well.
Our strategy has been to focus on a small number of groups to support so that we are truly able to build relationships with those that we have chosen to serve. Our desire is also to align our missions projects with the interests and passions of our congregation. Our recent affiliation with the Bookfriends Foundation was the result of a member sharing their enthusiasm for this worthy cause of providing books to schools in Tanzania.
New for this year has been our creation of a Cluster Missions Group, The Dream Team. By combining the efforts of 5 local churches, we are able to do projects beyond the scope of any one of our churches on their own. We are also able to be supportive of others efforts with ideas, resources, and volunteers. .
Highlights of some of our missions efforts include:
* Interfaith House
-Preparing and serving meals
-Creating housewarming kits for residence
transitioning to new housing
* Child Serv
-Purchasing 110 Christmas gifts for children as
part of their Holiday Gift Program
-Providing Graduation gifts for 100+ children in
their HIPPA program
* Bookfriends
-Donating books and working at their warehouse
sorting and preparing books for shipment to
Africa
* Red Bird Mission in KY
-Hosting an Appalacian Craft Fair and
supporting a missionary
* UMCOR, ChildServ & Marcy Newberry

for their needy children
